You Need a Father

SPIRITUAL FATHERS

For though ye have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet have ye not many fathers: for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel.

1 Corinthians 4:15

Fathers are gifts from God to us. God sends them to us at various points in time in our lives, to guide, counsel and help us fulfill His will for our lives. Among fathers, we have the biological father, spiritual father, father-in-law, father of a movement etc. God expects us to be able to receive them well and submit to their leadership. Interestingly, we do not decide the kind of fathers to follow. It is God that decides.

Naturally, none of us has control over the choice of people who become our biological parents. We are just born, and we get to know and relate to them as such. So are spiritual fathers – it is God that gives. We do not of our own will decide who they should be. God knows us fully, and knows which father would better suit us. Decide to submit to the spiritual father God brings your way. His presence will act as coverings over your life. He will speak words over your life, pray for you, bless you and prophesy to you. Also, there is some level of glory and honour that you can only receive from a father.
