Your identity is in Him

In our society today, it is easier for people to have a say in our lives with respect to the paths we carve for ourselves.They have a perceived view of who they expect you to be and not necessarily how God sees you and expects you to be. If you do not meet up to these expectations, you’re immediately written off and considered as not up to the task. This therefore shows how our identity has been attached so much to other people’s expectations of us.
For instance; A man is expected to portray machismo for that is what is deemed as manly enough. Any man who portrays characteristics of calmness is immediately described as being too soft or emotional. Women are also gradually being taught to fight authority and statutes all in the name of Feminism. It is very right to crave for the best for yourself but have you ever thought of what Christ wants for you?
We were created in His own image; in His likeness and beauty, and that is what we should stand for. He knew us even before we were made body and flesh and even in our weaknesses, He still loved us. 1Corinthians 12:27 tells us that we are the body of Christ and each one of us is a part of it. This informs us where our identity should be found. It is in Him alone! Irrespective of what society,family or friends say, your validation should come from Him alone. He created us and knows us better than we even do so we much live according to His purpose and not what others think.
